JOB TITLE

Technical Advisor

The objective of a Burbank Dental Lab Technical Advisor is to bridge and enhance the communication between the lab and the dentist through the following objectives and strategies.

Essential Duties

  • Provide technical support and case planning to clients.
  • Ensure the doctor’s preferences are being met.
  • Inform, discuss and ensure the doctor’s preferences are documented in Burbank Dental Lab’s customer management system.
  • Become knowledgeable on alternative products and services.
  • Maintain readiness to answer the “Technical Support Phone Queue.”
  • Assist customers with design, fit and function as well as make material & restorative recommendations.
  • Follow up and make outbound calls on the request of the Managers, Account Managers and or Customer Service on any outstanding issues requiring technical questions or problems.
  • Provide detailed pre and post QC on complicated cases ensuring the technical accuracy, as well as the doctor’s preferences, are met before shipping.
  • Provide detailed lab instructions for cases (as required) to meet the doctors and patients expectations.
  • Follows-up on specific requests made by the doctors on the particular case.
  • Evaluates each case thoroughly and advises doctors on which product is the best for the particular case.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of dental lab experience and/or 5 years of experience as a dental lab technical advisor.
  • Proficient in English verbal communication skills, including professional telephone manner.
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and flexible.
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Communicates with customers, colleagues, dental technicians, and managers in a prompt articulate manner.
  • Trains other staff as needed.

JOB TITLE

Dental Technology Engineer

Experience Required: 3 years

Essential Duties

Work with dental-restoration technology and systems, using the latest technology and processes at Burbank Dental Laboratory’s state-of-the-art dental laboratory. Contribute to the ongoing research, development, and programming of laboratory-wide dental technology systems, including software application platforms and complex machine tools for mass manufacture of custom dental components. Utilize experimental and prototype designs, including specially developed dental implants. Recommend designs and methodologies that comply with federal regulations and standards and are capable of technical implementation and manufacture. Work with computer-aided design (CAD/CAM) and programming techniques to produce optimal dental components (e.g., custom crowns, inlays, veneers, bridges, and dental implants) for mass manufacture. Use integrated milling tools and technology, including CNC milling tools, dental software and design technology, and dental-specific CAD/CAM systems to manufacture custom components. Keep abreast of the latest technology and processes, ongoing research, and development of dental technology.

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements

Three (3) years of dental technology, dental machinist, or related experience, manufacturing ceramic dental restorations, including crowns, veneers, and frames; developing and maintaining mechanical dental equipment and systems; working with programmable controls, machine tools, and machining technology, using CAD/CAM and related design software; developing and testing specialized machine tool systems; and providing dental technology training to dentists and dental technicians.

MCZIR Mill Technician

Department: ATC

Summary

The MCZIR Mill Technician I will be familiar with wet and dry milling. This person will make sure the product is milled properly by reading the prescription from the client and asking pertinent questions to perfect the product.

Essential Duties

  • Scan and design restorations
  • Operate the mills and use CAD/CAM software
  • Read prescriptions and make the product is up to client standards
  • Keep mills clean and maintained
  • Recommend changes to the client
  • Work with staff in all departments

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a dental lab
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • CDT certification or dental certification is preferred
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English

  • Experience with zirconia, wax, PMMA (a methacrylate resin for temporaries)
  • Experience with wet and dry milling required
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements
  • Familiar with 3Shape, Inlab and Cerec scanners preferred
  • Familiar with implant systems and digital programs preferred
  • Experience with milling glass-ceramics, such as lithium disilicate, and also with milling feldspathic porcelains and composite resins

Summary

Implant restoration CAD Designer is responsible for: Scanning of client models and intaking of digital files into exocad, 3-Shape, or Zirkonzahn design softwares, Evaluation of case parameters for compatibility with clinician’s prescription, and Design of implant restorations in accordance with prescription. Designs range from single abutments to full arch designs, including but not limited to implant bars, hybrid frameworks and monolithic prosthesis (materials including but not limited to: zirconia, pmma, composite, and metal). Also responsible for redesign, if needed, for those orders that require remake.

  • Create implant restoration designs based on client prescriptions, using 3-Shape, exocad, or Zirkonzahn CAD design software
  • Ability to work from digital model files to design dental restorations in a timely manner that meet the prescription parameters and comply with material tolerances

Summary

Summary

The custodian worker will keep the buildings clean and orderly. This person will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning the floors, washing walls and glass, workstations and removing rubbish. Responsibilities will also include notifying management of the need for repairs and cleaning products and chemicals needed to do the job.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to:

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
  • Gather and empty trash
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
  • Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvens, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
  • Maintain supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as parties and meetings
