Case Study
This patient presented with a large diastema between 8 and 9. His teeth were worn down, chipped, cracked, and uneven. In addition, he had over-erupted anterior mandibular teeth. For these reasons, this case was challenging and required a comprehensive treatment plan.

Invisalign® Treatment
Invisalign® was used to address initial concerns of uneven spacing between teeth 6 to 11 and to intrude on the lower teeth. By employing clear removable aligners, the patient’s teeth were gradually repositioned over a period of approximately six months.
The patient demonstrated excellent compliance by consistently wearing the aligners as instructed. These positive outcomes provided a solid basis for the subsequent stages of treatment.

Preparation and Impressions
To address the case’s visual concerns, such as wear and chipping, preparations were made for crowns on teeth 6-11. Impressions were taken and sent to the Smiles By Design team at Burbank Dental Lab to create the final restorations.

Case Insertion
Dr. Sugar underwent the placement of custom-made E.max restorations, commencing the seating process following an assessment of the restorations. The initial trial of the E.max crowns ensured that they aligned with both the patient’s and doctor’s expectations. Upon the patient’s approval, the teeth were prepared to accommodate the new crowns.
Subsequently, the bonded restorations underwent a final evaluation for aesthetics and functionality, ultimately resulting in the patient’s high satisfaction.
