Classic Feldspathic Porcelain Veneers

Cementation Guidelines

Feldspathic Veneers:

Etching – Acid-etch the internal surface of the veneer with hydrofluoric acid for 60 seconds.
Bonding Protocol -Use a high-quality adhesive bonding agent for optimal integration with the tooth.
Light-Cured Resin Cement – Select a translucent or lightly shaded resin cement to preserve the veneer’s natural translucency.

IPS e.max

Etching – Etch the internal surface with hydrofluoric acid for 20 seconds, then thoroughly rinse and dry.
Silane Application -Apply a silane coupling agent to the etched surface to enhance bonding strength.
Dual-Cure Resin Cement – Use dual-cure resin cement to ensure a strong bond, especially for cases with limited light access.

Chairside Adjustments

Feldspathic Veneers:

Fine Diamond Burs – Use fine-grit diamond burs for minor contour adjustments. Avoid aggressive grinding to prevent fractures.
Polishing – After adjustments, polish the surface with porcelain polishing kits to restore the veneer’s gloss.
Avoid Heat – Minimize friction to prevent heat buildup, which could damage the veneer.

IPS e.max

Adjust with Caution – Use fine or medium-grit diamond burs for shaping, applying light pressure to avoid microcracks.
Re-Polishing – After adjustments, use a porcelain polishing kit to restore the smooth, glossy surface.
Avoid Excessive Grinding – Excessive removal of material can weaken the veneer’s structure.
