Full metal crowns have the longest track record of any restorations in use today. Burbank Dental Lab uses CAD/CAM milling to deliver the most consistent full metal ( Nobel, High Noble, and NP) restorations available.

No other restoration matches the reliability and durability of full metal restorations. They are considered to be the most conservative type of restorations.

Indications for Use

Ideal restorations for posterior restorations with very limited reduction available, especially in bruising patients.

Contraindications

Full metal crowns are not normally acceptable to use in cosmetic areas.

 

Clinical Handling

Prep Design

  • The most conservative margins, like feather edge margins, take advantage of the characteristics of gold but all margin preparations may be used, including a full shoulder.
  • 1 mm axial wall reduction
  • 1 mm cingulum / occlusal reduction required.

Cementation

Any conventional cementation system, glass ionomer, resin modified glass ionomer, auto cure resins.

Adjusting & Polishing

Adjust with stones, diamonds or carbides. Smooth with rubber points or wheels. Polish with metal polishing points and wheels.
